tidy homes and gardens

This is the second of a series of photographs I took in Vézin-le-Coquet. It mirrors the perspective of middle-class housing and people. It used to be a nice aerea with good reputation says the cab-driver, but all changed when the city of Rennes decided to build appartments here for hundreds of people from Rennes which they forced to move to Vézin and leave the city around 10 years ago. I am still on my way to find the name of this quartier in Rennes.

The atmosphere is deceptive walking around in this nice neighbourhood along the streets that are named after flours and composors. Every now and then the shops at the main shopping street get robbed. There is no police station in this small village but there will be soon cameras to surveillance cameras to rise the feeling of security. In urban anthropology this is a well known policy of cities in the last 20 years to rise the „subjective security“ as a mean to communicate with the locals and augment confidence in the properness of a neighborhood.
